For the period from 2013 Jan 2 to Mar 1, inclusive, due to the unpredictability of the weather and other factors that affect the village during the ‘off’ season, the following supplementary conditions apply to bookings at Moganshan House 2 and House 23.

1. Both House 2 and 23 may only be rented in their entirety. We regret that partial bookings of a few rooms or a single room cannot be accepted. For the price of whole house bookings please see www.moganshanhouse23.com

2. Transportation/Access. In the event of snow or ice on the roads, particularly the roads up the mountain itself, guests must accept the risk that they may have to walk, with their luggage, for some of the way. We suggest you pack accordingly and wear suitable shoes. We have secured the services of three six seat minivans that have snow chains who will do their best to get guests as far up the mountain as possible.  Price depends on the conditions. If travelling by your own transport, we recommend a four wheel drive and snow chains in snow. We regret we cannot offer a porter service for luggage.

3. Deposit. We require full payment in advance.

4. Cancellation policy. Our standard cancellation policy applies except:
a. Cancellations 7 or less days prior to arrival will not be refunded, nor will the deposit  be carried forward, under any circumstances whatsoever, including due to problems with access because of snow etc.
b. If during the course of a stay in House 2 or 23, due to inclement weather, there is a problem with amenities that causes inconvenience or discomfort, guests must be prepared to ‘put up with it’ for a period of twenty four hours whilst we try to fix the problem, and keep guests warm and comfortable in the meantime. Thereafter, should we not be able to fix the problem, guests who decide to leave will be refunded for the remaining nights they have paid for. If guests prefer not to ‘put up with it’ and decide to cut and run immediately, they will forfeit that night’s fee and be refunded the remainder.

Other
The houses will be fully heated in advance of guests’ arrival. They will also be fully stocked and staffed, and those supplies have to be carried up in advance, and the staff have walked if necessary, hence these ‘off’ season conditions.
There are fully serviceable, reliable wood burning stoves in the public rooms of both houses.
Despite all the above, we do guarantee that we will always be able to provide hot food and drink, log fires, and warm blankets. We also guarantee that should you come and stay when Moganshan is covered in snow, you will enjoy one of the most beautiful, peaceful and atmospheric winter breaks anywhere in China.

*** The Moganshan Lodge will be closed for winter break from Jan 2nd – Feb 28th, 2013.
